Hyde pub with greatest views of Manchester officially reopens

A local pub based in Hyde, The Hare & Hounds, has reopened this week following a six-figure investment that has completely rejuvenated the site.

The popular rural spot, which is part of the Chef and Brewer Collection of country pubs, has been closed for several weeks, undergoing a transformation which has modernised the site both inside and out to provide a warm and welcoming setting for guests.

The garden terrace, which boasts breathtaking picturesque views, has been expanded to include a new outside bar area, as well as a heated pergola, providing a premium al fresco dining offering to be enjoyed in any season.

Inside, the pub has had a complete makeover, with new furniture, furnishings and fittings throughout. The Hare & Hounds also welcomes dogs, meaning guests out walking with their furry friends can come and sample the delicious food and drink on offer.

What’s more, the pub has re-opened just in time for the launch of the spring menu, which includes a varied selection of daily specials and a broad choice of alcoholic drinks, cocktails and soft drinks.

With an unrivalled skyline view of the city of Manchester, and located close to Etherow Country Park, the pub offers something for everyone – from tourists and families, to commuters and ramblers who want to enjoy a hearty meal and a drink after working up their appetite.

As part of the investment, The Hare & Hounds team are recruiting, with both full and part time positions available for front of house, kitchen staff and management. Those wishing to apply can do so by emailing the pub directly at: helenwatters.gm@greeneking.co.uk

Helen Watters, General Manager of The Hare & Hounds said: “With summer just around the corner, we couldn’t be more excited to show off our newly refurbished pub to guests both old and new. There’s never been a better time to enjoy premium al fresco dining in our new look garden terrace and take in the stunning views.

“Being located in the beautiful countryside, but a stone’s throw away from Manchester city centre, makes us the perfect spot to pop in for a drink and try our premium pub food after a walk around the local area, or a hike through the nearby country trails. We can’t wait to welcome our guests back through our doors.”
