Halifax business Solarsport launches new range of sun protection products following rebrand
Solarsport, a new name in skincare and sun protection, has expanded its product line with the launch of a new moisturiser and sunscreen.
The Halifax-based business has recently rebranded as part of its growth strategy. The rebrand included a new website, logo and bottle packaging to give a modern look to an essential product.
Founded by Terry Hateley-Lowe, Solarsport was born out of a personal mission to protect his family after his wife’s skin cancer diagnosis. Concerned about his children’s exposure to the sun during outdoor sports activities, Hateley-Lowe set out to create a sunscreen that would offer high protection without the greasy residue common in traditional sunscreens that his children often complained about.
The result was a transparent formula that could be applied as a dry mist, providing instant protection. Tested and refined over three years, the sunscreen has also been developed to be sweat-proof and water-resistant, making it ideal for athletes across a range of outdoor sports.
Terry Hateley-Lowe, co-founder of Solarsport, said: “From its humble beginnings as a solution for my family’s sun protection needs, Solarsport has now evolved into a trusted choice for athletes and fitness fans looking for the ultimate in sun protection and performance. Our newly developed range continues our commitment to providing high-performance sun care products that sports enthusiasts can rely on.”
Developed to shield skin during outdoor sporting activity at the highest level, the new sunscreen and moisturiser is aimed at fitness fans including marathon runners, cyclists, football players, and hikers. Solarsport has recently partnered with Peak Divide, 2023 Challenge Cup Final and Ilkley Triathlon to provide its products to participants.
Tony Wood, Director at Solarsport, said: “Our goal at Solarsport is to empower athletes and fitness fans to perform at their best without compromising their skin health. Over the next year, we aim to introduce even more products all designed around protecting the skin.”
